Health Problems For Kamala

Kamala, The Ugandan Giant, actually born as one James Harris, was once known for his wild feuds with Jerry Lawler in Tennessee and with Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker and more in the  WWF. In recent years, eh has fallen on very hard times, both financially and health-wise.

Sadly, the effects of a diabetic condition have taken their toll. Like Ricky Romero and Russ Barker, he has become a double amputee due to diabetes.

One cannot help but wish him the best and that he may overcome  this adversity as best as possible.

Time Traveler Recovers From Cataract Surgery

Veteran manager and occasional wrestler, The Time Traveler, first beat down diabetes this year and now has conquered cataracts thanks to eye surgery in the fall. The 56 year old made a return to managing in Alliance, Ohio in November.

"This is the first time I have been able to see without glasses clearly since like high school," the  manager said in regard to the process. "Actually wrestling a match is going to be out of the question from now on, but I was long done with that phase of things anyway.  I am still going to manage, both here in Ohio and in Arizona next year. I am not done yet. Far from it."

Death Of Siete Vidas

Mexican wrestler, Siete Vidas, passed away a short time ago after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Siete Vidas was a big draw among lucha libre promotions in Arizona in the 1990s, feuding with The Black Mamba, Time Traveler, Eruption, The Mad Monks and others.

Count Coffin & Mr. Madd

Wanting to come to Arizona soon are Count Coffin & Mr. Madd, a pair of wrestlers who have worked the Midwestern circuits most recently as a set of psychos in the tradition of Abdullah The Butcher & The Sheik.

Okay. Comparing these two to the likes of Abdullah and Sheik may be pressing it.

Still , the two will make a great addition to whatever of the many independent groups in Arizona they might work for.

Mr.. Madd does the eye rolling total basket case routine, where Count Coffin does the talking.

This should go over well in Arizona, which has always loved the nut routine.

The pair have some obligations in West Virginia and Pennsylvania in Fall, but want to escape the Midwestern snows soon to follow.  .

Pedro Gomez & Pepper Morales

In the 1960s, Ernie Muhammad started taking a page from the books of Tony Santos, by using sound alike name son his promotion now and again. He had a Jack Frisco later down the road and a Gene Viniski under a mask.  Granted, he was smart enough to not pull this all the time and burn his bridges with the fans, but sometimes he snuck such ripoffs in.

While Ernie ran a good show overall and lasted for many years, Don Fargo reamed him as a fool in his recent Hard Way book. At times, Ernie did do dumb things and this was one of them.

One of the worst monstrosities when he did do the ripoff was to have a team named Pedro Gomez and Pepe Morales.

The idea was to sound like Pedro Morales and Pepper Gomez, with fans thinking there was a misprint in the adds.

Ernie didn't stop to think when he aired these two on television the fans in the know would realize what was up .

He didn't even have them winning.

I have no idea who these two really were.

They remained in Arizona for a short time, losing in both tag team matches and in ingles competition, barring a rare win.  One must note a very rare win!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ernie did some great things, to be sure. He brought in a lot of top antes as well. Pedro Gomez and Pepper Morales were not two of them.

Death Of Ken Lucas

Ken Lucas died in Augusta after  a lengthy illness.

Lucas started out in Arizona and was a major star there in the 1960s, most notably feuding with Tito Montez, though he faced many others. His last Arizona actions came in the 1980s.


Lucas was likewise a major attraction in the southern states, where he spent many years facing the likes of Jerry Lawler, Eddie Sullivan, Rip Tyler, Cowboy Kelly and others..

Death Of Jimmy Garcia

Midget wrestler Jimmy Garcia passed away in Arizona at the age of 59 following an extended illness.

Garcia was popular in the 1970s and 1980s, usually wrestling with Mayor Danny/Dirty Danny.
