Death Of Nick Bockwinkel

One of wrestling's most beloved figures and former AWA champion, Nick Bockwinkel, has passed away.

Long before him, Nick's father, Warren, was also a major draw in Arizona, appearing regularly at the Phoenix Madison Square Garden.

Nick also appeared as a hated heel during his limited Arizona appearances.

Bockwinkel was especially  known for his arrogance in interviews and speaking skills before the camera.

Few fans or wrestlers recall ever seeing him in a bad match. Over the years, he had some classic battles with Verne Gagne, Crusher, Bruiser, Curt Hennig and others.

A formidable wrestler with an abundance of character strengths, he was one of the key figures of the 1970s and 1980s.

He will be missed.

Over the years, Fargo made varied trips to Arizona, but never stayed long. He engaged in a brief feud with Ricky Romero there, spilling over from Texas.

Victor Price Breaks Leg

Victor Price, an indy wrestler  who has made the rounds in the past year in the west, took a  very real and very serious injury up in Washington state on November 7 in Poulsbo, in a match with Killer Cobb.

Price reportedly fell badly after being dropkicked, with his one leg behind the other and that is what caused the injury.

There is no indication how long he will be out of action.

It"s About Time

If you get Antenna Tv on cable, check out It's About Time. Though one of the worst tv sitcoms ever, coming from the 1960s, the plot involved two astronauts set back in time, to a prehistoric era. Suspicious enough, the cavemen speak English.

The show is/was about as funny as a prostate exam.

The series, brief that is was, might be interesting to wrestling fans because it featured former wrestler Mike Mazurki, once a mainstay in Arizona, as a thug, enforcing rules for Boss, the head caveman.

This was not Mazurki's finest moment in the acting realm.

Still....
